SEASONAL - Boho Chic Halloween Decor Ideas

There was a row brewing about violin practise. She wanted to decorate the house three weeks prior to Hallowe’en. I wasn’t quite on board with adding fake cobwebs to the ever mounting collection of real ones, just yet. We compromised. She practised violin, I collected pumpkins and searched the garage for the box labelled' ‘Hallowe’en’.

Since moving to Ireland, I am slowly achieving one of my big goals - to have boxes for each holiday and season, collections that we can add to each year. Anyone who has moved house and country multiple times, will know that this kind of décor just isn’t possible. We had a tiny fake Christmas tree in the Caribbean and cut out paper snowflakes the day before. Hallowe’en in Switzerland was more about baking and fancy dress for us.

In Ireland, however, I find that it is a big event and shops sell out of plastic tat well in advance of the 31st. We have added a few more natural touches to our home and I have found a collection of ideas from around the web to fuel your spooky boho chic Halloween decor inspo without too much of the aforesaid tat.

I hung this pretty twig from the ceiling above our dining table using fishing wire, screw in hooks and plugs (for the hole). We used it at Easter with ribbons hanging from it, Summer with dried flowers, for Halloween with spiders and cobwebs, and for Christmas with paper snowflakes.

I picked up some pumpkins early from Tescos and added them to the mantlepiece with books, lavender, skeletons (from Homestore and More). candles and dried flowers.
