CUSHIONS - The mighty Irish Oak

Celebrating the Irish Oak tree in all it’s splendour, these cushions are firm favourites on the website and in store.

The sessile oak is native to Ireland and commonly found in most woodlands. Similar is the common oak, also a native and differentiated really only by its acorns which have stalks..

The timber is durable and renowned for furniture making qualities. In earlier times, windows and doors were made from oak, and those windows in Mayo’s Westport House, for example, have survived more than a hundred years.

We have three colourways in our cushions, in a nod to the glory of these trees, believed sacred by the Celts.:

Dark Brown and Gold Oak

Sage Gren and Raspberry Red

Navy blue and antique gold
